Important Information

Alliant Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC)

  • Alliant is the successor to six government-wide technology contracts: Millennia, Applications 'N Support for Widely-Diverse End-User Requirements (ANSWER), Safeguard, Virtual Data Center, Disaster Recovery, and Access Certificates for Electronic Services (ACES).
  • This consolidation is due to GSA's Contract Vehicle Review Board determining that the retiring contracts are unnecessarily redundant.
  • GSA has decided on two contracts. One (Alliant) is open to all bidders. The second (Alliant Small Business -- Alliant SB) will be reserved for small business bidders.
  • The agreement will include common information technology products and services such as:
    -- Security
    -- Information assurance
    -- Business process re-engineering
    -- Communications
    -- Web development
    -- Modeling & simulation
    -- Biometrics
    -- Nanotechnology
  • Both contracts run for a base period of five years, and each has one five-year option period.
  • RFPs are scheduled to come out in August 2005. Contracts are scheduled to be awarded in June 2006.
  • The Alliant GWAC:
    -- Is a ten-year Multiple Award/Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity
    -- Has a $50 billion ceiling
-- Will include approximately 20 awards
  • The Alliant Small Business GWAC:
    -- Has a cap of $15 billion
-- Will include approximately 40 companies
-- Allows bidding companies to form joint ventures for pooling strengths
