4) Per Diem Rate Change
After conducting an analysis of the per diem rates established
for FY 2005, the General Services Administration (GSA) has
determined that current lodging, meals, and incidental expenses
(M&IE) allowances for certain localities do not adequately
reflect the cost of lodging in those areas.
GSA has reviewed the lodging rates of certain non-standard
locations in the states of California, Colorado, Florida,
Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio,
Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia,
and Wisconsin, and determined that the current lodging rates
are inadequate. Also, GSA has reviewed the M&IE rate of
some non-standard locations and come to the same conclusion.
Basically, FY 2006 lodging per diem rates are changing nationally
and M&IE rates in the state of Illinois, including the
city of Chicago, and Cook and Lake Counties effective November
10, 2005.
